My name is Rufus and I am a student of Class 6.

Ever since I can remember, I have always loved to study. I would try to collect books and magazines and even small pieces of newspapers that people threw away and pretended to understand what was written there.

My father is a tailor by profession. My family moved from the village to Lahore in search of a better living but unfortunately our living conditions did not improve. My mother says that living in cities is more expensive and we should be happy that we live in a big city even though we live in a poor neighbourhood.

When it was time for me to join school, my parents could not afford it and I stayed at home while I saw other children my age leave for school every morning. I used to be sad and upset as I desperately wanted to go to school with my friends.

Seeing my disappointment they got me admitted in a small, private school as they found it difficult to get me admitted in a good quality school.

When I was in Class 2, we came to know about The Institute of Emerging Leaders School System through a handout that someone gave to my father. He brought the handout home and gave it to me saying that admissions were open at TiEL and maybe it would prove to be a better school for me. The next day I rushed over to TiEL with my parents and was overjoyed to see the School. My luck changed that day!

I became a part of TiEL and enjoyed my new school and made new friends. I was a good student and soon started showing good results but here I would like to thank my teachers at TiEL for bringing out the best in me and exploring my hidden talents.

I always enjoyed music but was shy to sing out loud in school so no one knew that I had a good voice. Preparing for our Annual Christmas Event, my teacher encouraged me to participate in Christmas Choir and my voice was discovered by everyone! I received a lot of praise from my friends and teachers and since that day I have confidently participated in all musical plays.

I want to join the Foreign Services, travel the world and be the best Ambassador for my country.
